Homeless Outreach Prayer Requests 09.13.13

The Homeless Outreach Team had a busy Friday the 13th this past week. 51 people let us share a moment with them and pray for God to be close to them. With so many humbling moments and opportunities to share how much love and grace God has, it was an incredible night. Please join us in prayer while you read their stories below.

Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

– Please pray for Melissa who recently started attending Oasis. She saw us on the street and was thankful we told her about our new service times since she had been out of town. She’s excited to join us for Open Outreach on October 4th!

– Robert was thankful for the resource bag and appreciated our presence on the Boulevard.

– Fayo was playing “Amazing Grace” on his harmonica and asked us to pray for humanity.

– William was thankful for the resource bag and the gift of food.

PRAISE! We received a donation from a pair of Australian women who were on vacation and blown away by Jesus’ work through us on the street. We were so thankful to be blessed with such generosity.

– We were excited to bless our new friend Lynn with tacos after she had asked us for a warm meal. The Spirit lead us to use part of the generous donation to warm and nourish her body and sould. Thank you God. You are SO good!

– Please pray for Josh and Danny who were thankful to receive food and water.

– We saw our friend “Green Tea” again. He seemed calmer this week and asked that we pray for a better life and a way off the streets.

– Billy, a drummer on the street, was thankful for the bottle of water we gave him.

– Kenneth was thankful to receive a bag, but handed it to his friend Cleo, who was waiting at the bus stop. We went over to bless them with another bag and Cleo shared with us that she has a neuropathy disease which has left her disabled. It’s a complication of her diabetes and she is in a lot of pain. Please continue to pray for her healing and freedom from these crippling ailments.

– We saw our friend Raven and she asked that we pray for her and her husband, Melvin. She is suffering from cancer and they’re in need of finances and housing. She was thankful for the bags.

– Peter was incredibly high, but so thankful for the bag of food and that we stopped to talk to him.

– Another praise report! We had a woman stop us to ask if we were feeding the homeless and before we could get her name, she handed us money and ran off! God, bless that woman – you know her heart and how to thank her for us. We love how you love, God!

– Flora has been homeless on and off for a few months, but thankfully is on the Section 8 housing wait list. He was staying in hotels until tonight. Please pray for his safety and for a short wait on housing.
